“COW” worshipped as Kamadhenu by Hindus, symbolizes prosperity and wealth. People worship Goddess Lakshmi in the form of cows. Cow is no doubt a Mother aptly referred as “GOMATHA” – GO means COW, MATHA means MOTHER as she nurtures so many lives. A human mother nurtures only her infant whereas Gomatha , irrespective of classifications nurtures not only her calf but all the living beings in the earth. She can also be referred too has JAGAN MATHA (Mother of Universe) because such is her generosity . Is it not the duty of we humans to protect our mother? Ofourse, it is our primary duty to protect and nurture them.
The milk of a cow is believed to promote sattvic “purifying” qualities. The ghee (clarified butter) from the milk of a cow is used in ceremonies and in preparing religious food. Cow dung is used as fertilizer, as a fuel and as a disinfectant in homes. Modern science acknowledges that the smoke from cow dung is a powerful disinfectant and an anti-pollutant. Its urine is also used for religious rituals as well as medicinal purposes. The supreme purificatory material, panchagavya, was a mixture of five products of the cow, namely milk, curd, ghee, urine and dung. There is nothing that is more sacred or sanctifying than cows. These kind animals serves mankind in many forms and ways right from its birth till its end.
The punya (blessing) of “GO SAMRAKSHANA” is carried to about seven generations . It is highlightened in VEDAS and SCRIPTURAL LORES to protect cows.
Our civilization values great ones in the form of Mother as India , our Bharat is referred to as Mother , Cow the Mother, Veda the Mother, Sacred Rivers the Mother, Language the Mother and so on. In such a spirited , sanctified land is it wise to slaughter a mother (cow) and eat her flesh in the lap of the mother (India) itself?. Mother cow is extracted all through her life in the form of milk, urine, dung (which is all useful for the mankind) hearts pain to note that when she becomes dry and no longer productive, she is sold to a slaughter house. An animal which comes to earth is used only to serve the mankind and sent for its last breathe by the unkind man. Saving Lives should be the nature of mankind not slaying lives.
Trust is planning to encourage the donators to contribute more on helping "Cow" and get the blessings of Gomatha.
Bagalamukhi- THE PROTECTOR
Bagalamukhi is the eighth Goddess among the ‘Dasamaha Vidya' Goddesses. In the ancient times during the Thretha Yuga, massive disaster (Maha Pralaya) occurred. During that time, the sea was proliferating into the land from all 4 directions. Also, it was raining with thunderstorms. During that time, Sriman Narayana was immersed while in deep meditation. Disturbed by the sudden disaster, He prayed to Lord Shiva for remedy.
Lord Shiva blessed Him with the Moola mantra of Goddess Bagalamukhi.
Pleased by the prayers of Maha Vishnu, Goddess Parashakthi decided to play in the waters. In the state of Sowrashtra, deity Parashakthi took the avatar of Bagalamukhi in the form of "Brahmasthra Roopini". She had the power to stop and control all the activities of the world. Hence, the Devas and trinity Gods (Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva) adorned Her with the name "Sthambhini".
She is the form of "Goddess Tripura Parameshwari". She has the qualities of the ‘Varahi Devi', who governs in Thiruvanaikaval. She has the power to stop the enemy's words and actions from her own place.
Once upon a time, when a war took place between the Devas and Asuras, Asuras lost and ran away. Before running away, they planted ill things like nails, etc with the intention of doing bad things to Devas. These are called as ‘Kritya'. These Krityas were removed by the sounds of maha Vishnu and this act is known as ‘Valahanam'. In Atharva Veda, Goddess Bagalamukhi is quoted as the one who can remove Kritya. Valka means ‘horse reins'. She has the power to put control like that of a horse rein, to the words and hence called "Valkaamukhi", which later became "Bagalamukhi". The main mantra used in Her worship is "Hleem". Her name is included in the ‘Aamnaya mantras'.
She sits in the throne decorated with gems in a palace which is situated in the middle of the sea. Her skin reflects Gold. Her features express Power and Majesty. She wears the Crescent moon on her head. She gives fear to the enemies. Her eyebrows resemble that of a rainbow. She ties the tongue of enemies, thus making him lose his speech and at the same time, beats his head with a powerful weapon called Mudgaram, thus making him lose his mind. By doing these, she arrests the activities of negative enemies. She also helps the Yogis to perform and practice their work like "Pranayanam".
When all the colors fade, they change to yellow. In the same way, as She reduce the negative energy of others, She is decorated in yellow.
Lord Muruga once asked Lord Shiva for a mantra to completely demolish the demons. Lord Shiva advised the"Brahmasthra Mantra", which is the Bagalamukhi mantra. This mantra was learnt from Lord Shiva by Lord Vishnu and Lord Brahma. Her blessings give the power to walk on water and fire. She is the power of "Koormavatar" of Lord Vishnu. She purifies us and blesses us with Knowledge,Wealth and Power.
